Regina Street Alternative School Takes Mud Lake On the Road

Regina Street Alternative School students and staff pride themselves on having the best backyard in the city. The school is uniquely located just south of Mud Lake, a wonderfully diverse NCC system of trails and wetlands. Students regularly visit Mud Lake as an extension of the school.

This Saturday, February 3, 2018 - three members of the Mud Lake Symphony will extend their classroom a little further than their back yard. The students will take to the National Arts Centre (NAC) stage to perform with Jessie Stewart  as part of their Hack Lab series.

The Mud Lake Symphony is an ongoing partnership with Jesse Stewart. Students recreate the many sounds of Mud Lake and tell its history through musical performances.  The students and staff consider Mud Lake the largest classroom in their school.

“Hack the symphony” uses science and technology to explore sound and symphonic classics. Performances are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the NAC
