EarlyON Child and Family Centre

Please Note:

Due to the provincial announcement of a return to a Modified Stage 2 of the Roadmap to Reopen and recommendations from the Ministry of Education, OCDSB EarlyON Centres will not be offering in-person programming until further notice. Virtual group programming and virtual individual support will be available. Curbside pick-up of art and literacy kits will also be available. Visit EarlyON Family Resources to find the location nearest you, view the calendar of events, browse recorded videos and activity ideas, and connect directly to an EarlyON professional to support you in your role. We will share program updates on this site as well as on OCDSB social media.

We are pleased to share that our EarlyON centres are offering a variety of early learning programming to meet your needs. This includes indoor, outdoor, virtual and curbside programming options.  All programming requires registration or an appointment. To attend an indoor program, a one-time non-employee vaccination attestation form must be completed.

Visit EarlyON Family Resources to view the programs offered in your community, to learn more about the registration process, and to connect directly with the Program Facilitator at each school location. You can also browse recorded videos, family activity ideas, calendars of events, and community resources.

We are following operational guidance from the Ministry of Education and Ottawa Public Health to provide a safe early learning environment for families and staff.

logoGeneral Information

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board operates EarlyON Child and Family Centres (formerly known as Parenting and Family Literacy Centres) in eight elementary schools. The EarlyON Child and Family Centres offer programs for families and their children from birth to age 6 that build positive adult/child relationships, encourage children’s exploration through play and inquiry and can facilitate community connections for families. While at the Centre, families can:

  • Discuss with the program facilitator and share information about parenting, child development, nutrition, play-based learning and other topics that support the role of the parent/caregiver.
  • Become familiar and build positive connections with the school
  • Obtain information on community resources
  • Access a multilingual book lending library

Our centres are open to all families in Ontario.
We follow the school calendar and do not operate on PA days or holidays.
