Immunizations - 2019-2020 School Year

Immunizations - 2019-2020 School Year
Posted on 08/28/2019

As we enter a new School Year, it is important to remember that Ottawa Public Health requires proof that your child has received proper immunization. All children attending school in Ontario must be immunized against diphtheria, tetanus, polio, measles and rubella, unless there is a valid exemption. Parent(s)/Legal Guardian(s) are responsible for updating Ottawa Public Health every time their child receives an immunization from their doctor.

All of the immunizations that are required to attend school in Ontario are free at your family doctor, a walk-in clinic, a school clinic or the immunization centre at Ottawa Public Health.

A School Immunization Schedule for 2019-2020 will shortly be available on the Ottawa Public Health website.

Updating your child's record:

Online: Immunization Connect Ontario (ICON)

With ICON you can view your child's record and be informed of which immunizations your child needs or will need in the near future. You can print a copy or access the information anytime.

After submitting an immunization, it can take up to 5 days before any updates appear on your child’s record through the “View Immunizations” feature.

CANImmunize App:
