Challenge Accepted: Staying Connected at Fallingbrook Community Elementary

Families and staff at Fallingbrook Community Elementary School are stepping up to the challenge. Every week, the school invites participants to get involved in a fun challenge, such as staying active, sharing favourite books, and showing creativity. The submissions are turned into creative videos that keep the school community connected.

In their latest challenge, Fallingbrook celebrated Earth Day by sharing ways in which staff and families are helping the environment. These include turning down the thermostat, designing posters, re-purposing household items to build gardens, drying laundry on a clothesline, and more. Watch the full Green Team Challenge video:

The idea for this initiative came from teacher and Green Team leader, Michelle Minogue, and the response has been very positive.

A parent wrote, “Thank you so much for all the hard work that is going on behind the scenes to ensure a sense of community and continuity during these unprecedented times. I am so grateful and so impressed with the dedication and support that you all have shown, and feel compelled to let you know that your efforts make a huge difference. We are all in this together.”
