International Trans Day of Visibility (March 31)

March 31 is the International Trans Day of Visibility. This annual day is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of trans and gender diverse individuals while raising awareness of the work that still needs to be done to achieve trans justice.

Each OCDSB student, school and staff member has a responsibility to ensure that trans and gender diverse students have a safe learning environment. We are committed to ensuring that students of all gender expressions and identities feel safe, welcomed, and accepted in our schools.

For more information and resources, visit the OCDSB Gender Identity and Gender Expression Guide (PDF). This document sets out the OCDSB’s guidelines related to fostering gender inclusive learning environments for all students. Stay tuned for our revised guide coming later this year.

The OCDSB has a strong commitment to human rights, equity and inclusion. Our Indigenous, Equity and Human Rights Roadmap outlines the steps we are taking to address inequities in our systems, structures, policies and practices that continue to impact student and staff success and well-being. We also invite students, parents/guardians, staff and community members to participate in our Human Rights Policy Consultation as we work to create a district-wide human rights policy.
