National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S)

May 5th is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S). Today, the OCDSB honours and remembers all missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people. May 5th is also known as Red Dress Day, as we wear red to draw attention to missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two spirit people and as a call for all Canadians to remember and to take action.

The following links, shared by the OCDSB Indigenous Education Team, provide resources for learning, reflection and action. The information in these resources may be triggering for some. If you need to speak with someone, please reach out to helplines or a loved one.
