We change lives in Ottawa
|
The OCDSB and United Way believe that every child and youth deserves the chance to have a great life, no matter where in Ottawa they grow up.
United Way Ottawa researches the issues in our community, and understands the diverse challenges facing all 107 Ottawa neighbourhoods. United Way Ottawa knows that 26,210 Ottawa kids live in poverty; one in four kids in Ottawa start school for the first time vulnerable in one or more areas of their development; and youth in high-risk neighbourhoods are more likely to drop out of school, continuing the cycle of poverty.
The OCDSB asks that you consider giving to United Way. Your donation remains 100% local, and the local programs and initiatives United Way invests in ensure kids are ready to learn, and provide children and youth with a safe place to go outside of school hours. Donations to the Education Foundation and the Cathy Nevins Memorial Fund are directly targeted to students within the OCDSB.
Please take a moment to complete your pledge form and provide it to your colleague collecting on behalf of United Way.
The OCDSB campaign runs from October 3 to November 30. Payroll deductions begin in January 2019 with deductions taken over 26 pays, or as many as determined by the donor.
