On June 16, 2021, the Ontario College of Teachers published a Notice of Hearing against retired OCDSB teacher Peter Des Brisay. The Notice outlines a course of conduct that includes allegations of grooming and conduct that amounts to sexual abuse of a student between 1990 and 1996. The complaint was directed to the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) from the individual.

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board takes the health and safety of students and staff extremely seriously. In accordance with expanded provincial lead testing requirements in 2017, all designated drinking locations in OCDSB elementary schools were tested in 2017 and 2018 and we anticipate that the expanded testing in secondary schools will be completed in 2020.

On Monday, November 11th, OCDSB students and staff will commemorate Remembrance Day. Ceremonies will include assemblies, choir and glee club presentations, reading of poems, and dramatic productions. Students have spent many weeks researching the importance of honouring the date and time when armies stopped fighting in World War I - November 11th at 11 a.m. in 1918. Some 100,000 Canadian soldiers died in the First and Second World Wars.

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board has been advised by the Ottawa Police Service that an individual employed by the OCDSB has been charged with offences related to sexual assault between 2000 and 2018. These are in addition to similar charges against the same individual announced by the Ottawa Police Service in August 2019.
