NASA space talk with OCDSB students

A group of students will have the opportunity to speak with a NASA astronaut aboard the International Space Station on Friday.

The students with the OCDSB’s virtual school, Ottawa-Carleton Virtual, will be speaking with NASA astronaut Michael Hopkins. He is currently serving as Commander on the Crew-1 SpaceX Crew Dragon, named Resilience, which launched November 15, 2020.

A collection of 17 students, ages 6-11, will be speaking with the astronaut. This will be the first time during the COVID pandemic that a class in Canada will connect virtually with the space station.

It will be a radio conversation on Friday, February 5. The program starts at noon, with the discussion with the astronaut at approximately 12:40.

Students across the OCDSB and members of the public can also listen in via YouTube.
