Posted on 01/03/2022

Dear OCDSB Students,

Today, the Ontario government announced that all schools will be closed for in-person learning until Monday, January 17, 2022. OCDSB in-person students and OCV students will begin remote learning starting on Wednesday, January 5.

The school closures were announced as part of other measures to limit the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19. You can read the full announcement here: https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1001394/ontario-temporarily-moving-to-modified-step-two-of-the-roadmap-to-reopen

Technology support

If you need to borrow a Chromebook or an Internet hotspot for remote learning, please watch for communication from your principal with details on how to make this request.

We know these are stressful times for students. The rise of Omicron and the changes in provincial direction about school openings creates uncertainty and anxiety. During this period of remote learning, we will continue to support you and plan for the safe reopening of schools for in-person learning on January 17th.

You should expect to receive additional information from your school about remote learning.

Please take care of yourself and each other.

Sincerely,

Camille Williams-Taylor

Director of Education
