From kindergarten to high school, the programs you want are here. Call 613-721-1820, or drop by your local school for more details.

Elementary school offices reopen Friday, August 27, 2010.

Parents of elementary students (kindergarten to grade 3) are asked to provide students with the following supplies:

• pencils and erasers
• glue sticks
• ballpoint pens
• crayons
• rulers
• blunt scissors

In addition to the items listed above, students in grades 4 to 8, will also need:

• three-hole, lined notebooks
• three-hole, lined refill paper

Parents should continue to provide other items that they have purchased in the past such as binders, duotangs, coloured pencils, markers, and geometry sets.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING SUMMER OPERATING HOURS

Secondary school and Central Administrative offices will be closed from July 26 to August 6, 2010 for the summer shutdown. Read more...

School Food and Beverage Policy - Ontario Nutrition Standards for Schools

The Ontario government has introduced its new School Food and Beverage Policy. The changes will take effect September 1, 2011. 

What that means for students, staff, and parents is that all food and beverage products sold in OCDSB schools and work sites must meet new ministry guidelines, this includes:

· all venues on school property such as cafeterias, vending machines and tuck shops;
· all programs, including catered lunch programs; and
· all events on school property, including bake sales and sporting events, sanctioned by the school.

However the nutrition standards do not apply to food and beverages that are brought from home to school.

We are working very closely with Ottawa Public Health (OPH) and the Champlain District Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Network (CCPN) on the implementation of this new policy.  For additional information…

SCHOOL BUS SAFETY AWARENESS DAY - SUNDAY, AUGUST 29, 2010 

The Ottawa Student Transportation Authority, in conjunction with Le Consortium de Transport Scolaire d'Ottawa and the School Bus Operators of the Ottawa region, will be presenting the 18th annual School Bus Safety Awareness Day on Sunday, August 29,2010 for all first-time school bus riders. This co-operative venture will be held concurrently at six different school sites across the City of Ottawa. Please register early. Read more for registration information.

Full Day Kindergarten — Extended Day ProgramREGISTRATION ONGOING!

Starting in September 2010, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board will begin phasing in Full-Day Kindergarten for four and five year old students. Twenty-two of our elementary schools will offer the Full-Day Kindergarten in in the 2010-2011 school year.

The selected Full-Day Kindergarten schools will offer an extended day program before and after school which will be led by registered early childhood educators. These programs are optional and will be available for $23.30 per day. Subsidies will be available for some families, based on financial need. All completed forms should be returned as soon as possible to the home school.

Extended Day programs will operate subject to sufficient enrolment. Click here to see a registration form that must be printed, completed and submitted to your school office as soon as possible.
