Board Meetings

The Board of Trustees conducts its business through Board and Committee meetings. The Board meets as Committee of the Whole to discuss issues in detail.  Decisions made at Committee of the Whole are recommendations which are then brought to a meeting of the Board of Trustees.  The Board of Trustees is the final decision-making body for the school district.

Board and Committee meetings are public meetings and the public is welcome to attend.  The only exception is meetings which are closed or “in camera” because of the sensitive nature of the item under discussion.  All of our public Committee of the Whole and Board meetings are live-streamed via webcast at this link, and posted on our OCDSB YouTube Channel the next day.

Meeting Dates

  • Committee of the Whole usually meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month.
  • The Board of Trustees usually meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month.

Closed or "In Camera" Meetings

  • the security of the property of the board
  • the disclosure of intimate, personal or financial information in respect of a member of the board or committee, an employee or prospective employee of the board or a pupil or his or her parent or guardian
  • the acquisition or disposal of a school site
  • decisions in respect of negotiations with employees of the board
  • litigation affecting the board
