COVID-19 Information

It takes a community to keep our schools safe. Together, we must all do our part to stay healthy - at school and beyond.

The Ministry of Education has established COVID-19 protocols to help prevent the spread of the virus in schools.Ottawa Public Health is the lead health agency in Ottawa, responsible for managing COVID-19 cases, including providing guidance to schools on confirming and controlling outbreaks. The OCDSB supports Ottawa Public Health by helping communicate with the school community and assisting with the investigation of cases, contacts, and outbreaks.

  • Background on the role of Ottawa Public Health and and school boards
  • A COVID-19 screening tool for families (available in multiple languages)
  • School decision guides with a flowchart outlining the process Ottawa Public Health will lead in the event of a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 in schools
  • An example of letters Ottawa Public Health would share with families if your child has symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or there is confirmed case in the school
