Celebrating Creativity and Community as Students Return to SchoolThis month, we welcomed students back to back to school. Although this school year looks different than usual, our staff and students are finding creative ways to safely learn, collaborate and connect with each other. From outdoor learning initiatives to online field trips, here are a few highlights from our classrooms – both in person and virtual – over the past few weeks.

Making space for outdoor learning
To help bring learning outside, students in the Exploring Technology and Technological Design courses at Bell High School were hard at work building an outdoor classroom.

Connecting through a virtual assembly and music video
At Kanata Highlands Public School, students and staff held their first virtual assembly. Each class shared their focused “word” for the year – unique, positive, creative, peaceful, happy, brave – and staff shared a fun video reminding students to “wash it off!”

Taking in the fall colours
What better time than fall to learn about colours? Students in Mme. Whelan’s class at Rockliffe Park Public School headed outside to practice their French by exploring the colours around them.
