At Sir Robert Borden, Charif earned the highest overall academic average in grades 9, 10, and 11, received numerous Subject Recognition Awards, and founded the school’s Chess Club. He taught himself the programming language Python and was one of five Ottawa secondary students invited to take part in the University of Ottawa Hackathon. Charif also tutors and volunteers at a food bank. He is described as collaborative, diligent, respectful, and a friend to many.
quote

"Much like the past few decades have had incredible advances at the intersection of technology and communication, the next few decades will feature breakthroughs at the intersection of technology and biology. As such, I plan to use my degree to be at the forefront of these advancements and have the greatest positive impact." – Charif B.
