About Janice
Janice McCoy is currently the Interim Superintendent of People, Culture, and Leadership for the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. She supports a number of managers and teams directly engaged in providing district-wide operations in Facilities, Finance & Procurement, and Planning.

Janice holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa, as well as a Bachelor of Law (llB) from Osgoode Hall Law School. She has also completed a Program in School Board Management at the University of Ottawa and holds Supervisory Officer (Business) qualifications.

In her previous role as Superintendent of Human Resources, Janice was responsible for the development and implementation of several key policies and procedures, including Respectful Workplace (Harassment Prevention), Workplace Violence Prevention, Equitable Recruitment, Hiring and Promotion. She worked collaboratively to implement the initiatives outlined in the OCDSB’s Indigenous, Equity and Human Rights Roadmap, including the Valuing Staff Voices Equity and Engagement Survey.

Janice served for several years as a member of the OPSBA Labour Relations Council and participated as a member of provincial and central bargaining committees. She is a Past Board member of the Canadian Association for the Practical Study of Law and Education, and a Past Board Member and Vice-Chair of School Boards Cooperative Inc.
