Application Information
We welcome candidates for positions in our Venture Program for grades 9 and 10 only this year.
- Applications and forms will be due between November 15th - December 7th, 2023.
- Register for your visit to Canterbury Dance to observe dance classes and participate in a hip- hop workshop. The available dates for this mandatory participation are in January or February 2024.
- Complete your written “Expression of Interest”. This should be a single-page letter outlining why you want to attend the CHS Venture Dance Program and outlines why you think you would be a good fit for the program. Organization of your ideas should be clear and there should be evidence of proofreading.
What To Expect During Your Visit
Candidates will be greeted warmly by our faculty and will notice our CHS dance classes taking place concurrently. During their stay, candidates will observe ballet and modern dance classes. Candidates will also participate in a hip-hop workshop. We want candidates to experience learning dance in our facility while receiving lots of direction and feedback. We are looking for candidates with a high level of engagement and strong learning skills.
WHAT TO WEAR
Candidates for the Venture Program are encouraged to wear a t-shirt with athletic shorts, sweatpants or leggings. No tank tops please. It is recommended that hair be tied back off the face so it does not interfere with your learning.
