The Ottawa Student Transportation Authority (OSTA) announced this morning, February 7, that all school buses and vans will be cancelled today due to poor road conditions. All Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) schools will remain OPEN. OSTA is responsible for transportation for students of the Ottawa Catholic School Board and the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. If parents choose to send their children to school, they will be responsible for transportation to and from school. Students will need to be dropped off and picked up at their regularly scheduled bell times. District-wide sporting events will be cancelled. If necessary, further announcements regarding cancellations of specific events happening in OCDSB schools today will be shared on the OCDSB website and Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Dear Hopewell Families - Thanks so much for your help today! The City of Ottawa is currently working on repairing the water main break and they anticipate that all work will be completed by this evening. We will be open on Monday! We received notice of this situation at 8:30 AM. By 10:00 AM we had made contact with all families of students who had arrived at the school and pick up / early departure arrangements were made. At this time all students have been signed out. Throughout the morning we have been supported by our District’s Facilities Department, the Communications Department and our Superintendent of Instruction and are grateful for their expertise. A huge thank you is extended to our school community for the support this morning. We deeply appreciate the challenges that the very short notice of this closure created for families. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We look forward to welcoming your children back to school on Monday.
