One Stop Talk: Free Virtual Counselling
Did you know that you can talk virtually to a certified counsellor, 6 days a week, without having to make an appointment or wait on a waitlist? One Stop Talk provides free virtual counselling to children and youth up to 18 years old. All you have to do is head to the website and start a chat, or call 1-855-416-8255. The system will ask for a bit of information from you to connect you to a counsellor, that is right for you – and then you will get connected! It’s available from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
One Stop Talk is not a crisis line, but it provides you with one hour of support from a mental health professional at no cost to work through your current issue or problem. Together, you can work with them to co-design a plan to help you move forward. Plus, services are available in over 200 languages.
If you need ongoing support, they can also connect you with a navigator, who will support you in getting access to the services you may need without you having to call back or call another agency. They’ll help you to find the services that are right for you!
