On November 27, 2024, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board hosted a virtual information session to learn all about high school! This event was designed for students in Grades 7-12 and their families.
We explored the exciting opportunities that await students in high school, including:
- Courses and Programs: Participants learned about the wide range of subjects and programs available to help students discover their passions and interests.
- Support Services: Participants received information about the many ways we support student success, from academic help to mental health and well-being resources.
- Pathways to the Future: Participants were able to explore the different paths students can take after high school, whether it's an apprenticeship, college, university, or the workplace.
Participants also had the chance to ask questions and get answers from our knowledgeable staff.
The topics covered included:
- How courses are taught and how student progress is reported.
- The importance of athletics and extracurricular activities.
- Our commitment to equity and inclusion for all students, including Indigenous and 2SLGBTQ+ students.
