The OCDSB was pleased to invite students, their families and staff in Barrhaven West/East (Zone 3) for an informative and engaging in-person Community Connection on February 1, 2024, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Longfields-Davidson Heights Secondary School (149 Berrigan Dr.).
The Community Connection, hosted by OCDSB’s Family and Community Engagement Committee, was an opportunity forstudents, their families and staff in Barrhaven East/West (Zone 3) to discover the various resources available in the community and the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.
Agenda:
- Introduction and welcome - Shawn Lehman, OCDSB Superintendent of Instruction
- Exploring OCDSB Resources - A presentation on the diverse academic offerings, extracurricular activities, and special education services provided by the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.
- Discovering Local Supports - An overview of local community resources, including public libraries, educational programs, and after-school activities.
- Open Chat Session - Engage in open dialogue about educational topics that matter to the community.
- Focus Groups - Dive into discussions that aim to maximize resource utilization and address important community concerns.
