Walter Piovesan is the Acting Superintendent of Education for Central West OCDSB schools. Walter is thrilled to be returning to the OCDSB where he spent over 30 years as a teacher, Vice-Principal, Principal, Superintendent , and Associate Director. During his tenure with the OCDSB, Walter supported numerous portfolios, which include Safe and Caring Schools, Character Development, Equity and Inclusion, and Early Learning.
Walter has always been passionate about serving students who are traditionally “underserved”. He believes that schools are an integral part of the community and should be safe places for all community members to come and grow together.
Walter has also been the Director of schools in China and Egypt which has provided him with a global perspective in education.
Apart from supporting the central west schools, Walter is supporting the Early Learning Department.
