In accordance with the Education Act and regulation, school boards may directly operate before and after school programs or they may enter into an agreement with a Third Party Operator.
The OCDSB has developed and entered into partnerships at a number of elementary schools with third party operators. Our third party partners are regulated by the Ministry of Education and offer children enrolled in these schools a high quality before and after school care option serving children in the primary and/or junior division (i.e. from Kindergarten to Grade 6) where there is sufficient demand and/or viability.
Third Party Providers Extended Day Program 2024-2025
Licensed child care programs must meet and maintain specific provincial standards, set out in the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA). These standards provide for the health, safety and developmental needs of children. For help on how to find quality child care for your child(ren), visit the Ministry of Education website.
Registration process for Third Party Operators
Visit the City of Ottawa’s Child Care Registry and Waitlist (CCRAW).
Find the program(s) you are wanting to register your child/ren in the “Apply to Programs” section under “Child & Application Information”, choose the appropriate age group and apply. If it is your first time on the CCRAW, you will need to create a profile and fill the “Parent/Guardian Information” and the “Child Details” before being able to apply. Then you can contact the program directly to inquire about their service, program availability, hours, locations, and rates.
City of Ottawa Subsidy
In order for your child to receive a subsidy for the Extended Day Program you must register with the City of Ottawa Child Care Registry and Waitlist (CCRAW).
When you add your name to the Registry, you will have the option to apply for a subsidy or call the City of Ottawa at 311 for assistance.
