Schools are community hubs offering convenient venues for recreational and group activities. School facilities provide a place to gather, volunteer, access community programs and to be physically active. In partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Parent & Community Engagement Office of the Inclusive Education Branch, the OCDSB makes these facilities more affordable and accessible in support of healthy, active lifestyles and offering a higher quality of life to the residents within the District and surrounding communities.
If your association, business or not-for-profit organization is looking for affordable, flexible meeting options or recreational space, we have plenty of choices.

Availability and Access
To ensure fair and equitable access to District facilities, community groups seeking the use of school facilities must obtain a permit.
Returning clients are given first priority to the space they permitted in the previous year. Upon completion of school and returning client requests, space may be available to other community groups. This is dependent upon facility availability and the availability of custodial staff and/or other District approved personnel. Applicable fees will apply according to the user fee schedule.
Permitting
Permit Requests can be submitted using the online booking system, eBASE. Please note there is limited availability for gyms as most of these spaces have been booked by returning clients.
For further information, please check the eBASE catalogue to view locations, the eBASE Calendar to look at availability and the Community Use List of Important Dates as well as the Explore menu on this page for more information about Community Use of schools.
