Culturally Relevant & Responsive Resources

Indigenous Resources

The Indigenous Anti-Human Trafficking Liaison (IAHTL) Program supports Indigenous communities in providing survivor focused and localized responses to Human Trafficking. The IAHTL initiative was created by and for Indigenous people in order to end Human Trafficking in our communities.

Liaisons organize community engagement and educational sessions with survivors, including youth, Two-Spirit and those who have recently exited, focusing on their strengths and resiliencies in order to inform the development of best practice models.

Wabano Youth programs are centred around culture and community, our Indigenous youth programs (12+) give youth the opportunity to connect with each other and uncover their strengths. With a focus food and fitness, the classroom and land-based learning, creativity and activism, we aim to empower Indigenous youth of every background to forge their own path.

At the provincial level, the MNO AHT Coordinators build partnerships with communities and engage in initiatives that provide education and training about human trafficking. Additionally, MNO seeks to provide resources and referrals for further engagement and intervention.

At the local level, MNO AHT Coordinators offer direct programming and client support for those affected by human trafficking while also running workshops and drop-ins to further provide support and education for communities and those directly impacted by human trafficking.
