2025-2026 Middle French Immersion Registration

If your child has completed the grade 3 English/Core French Program, you can choose to register them for the Middle French Immersion Program. All subjects are taught in French in grades 4, 5 and 6, except for English Language Arts and Math.

For the 2025-2026 school year, the Middle French Immersion registration period takes place from Monday, February 3 to Friday, February 7, 2025.

After successful completion through to the end of secondary school, your child will be able to participate easily in conversation, take postsecondary courses in French, and live and work in a French-speaking community. The OCDSB is currently reviewing its elementary programs and has proposed a new elementary program model. The proposed model involves changes to French programming, which include discontinuing the Middle French Immersion program. If approved, the changes would be implemented in the fall of 2026.

It is important to note that the elementary program review does not impact registration for Middle French Immersion for the 2025-2026 school year. Visit Engage OCDSB to learn more about the proposed model, consultation opportunities and our next steps.
