New School Council Websites: Guidelines and Training
Last month, the OCDSB launched a new District website and school websites. All school websites include a microsite dedicated to the School Council. These microsites are hosted on the Rally platform, which offers all the tools to create, edit and maintain content on their sites. To ensure a secure and accessible visitor experience, all School Councils must use their official OCDSB microsite as their website.
School Council websites are used to share information related to School Council roles and responsibilities. All content must follow the OCDSB’s Electronic Communications Systems Procedure.
School Council website content can include:
- Information about School Council membership, member elections and constitution
- Upcoming events, fundraisers and activities
- School Council meeting dates and minutes
- Ways for families to volunteer or get involved in School Council
- Information and resources related to School Council roles and responsibilities
School Council members are invited to a virtual training session on Wednesday, February 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. to learn how to use the new OCDSB website and the School Council microsite. The training session will cover:
- Logging into the Dashboard
- Adding content, hyperlinks, documents, and images
- Using the calendar
Important: Prior to the training, all School Council passwords will be reset. To obtain your new password, please contact your school principal.
Register here to receive the meeting link. If you are unable to attend, the session will be recorded and posted on the OCDSB website. (To access the registration form, please use your OCDSB School Council email address).
